As previously reported by Gossip Girls, Miss Hudgens agreed to star in a new film titled “Beastly,” which is said to be a modern-day take on “Beauty and the Beast.”

According to a report, the film (set to begin filming this summer) will be set in Manhattan and will involve a handsome rich kid with a mean streak as the Beast.

The Beast character ends up ditching a date who ends up being a witch, and the disgruntled girl casts a spell on him, turning him into everything he hates.  He must then find true love to break the spell.

Spending the day side-by-side, Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron were front row for the Los Angeles Lakers’ opening playoff game against the Utah Jazz at Staples Center on Sunday (April 19).

Playing a good girlfriend for her boyfriend Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens gives him some advice about how to decorate his new house in the Hollywood Hills. She tells him about how to arrange his furniture and “gives him hints on interior design”.

Receiving some good tips from Vanessa, 21-year-old Zac feels her advice really helps him setting up his new house. “She’s great, she’s been helping me out,” he says about Vanessa. “She’s got a great sense of style anyway so that’s great for me.”

Recently, Vanessa Hudgens opened up to the May edition of Self Magazine that she has a crush on “Changeling” actress Angelina Jolie. “I’m in love with Angelina Jolie,” she stated. “Everything she does, I adore.”

Also asked about her role’s expectation for her future movie projects, the 20-year-old star said she is desperate doing different scenes from the ones her role in musical drama film “High School Musical” did. “I’d like to do an action film where I could kick someone’s ass,” she revealed. “I want to be strong and empowered. I want to shock everybody.”

In the latest chapter of celebrity breakups, it has been announced that Ashley Tisdale and Jared Murillo are a couple no longer.

And according to an Us magazine inside source, the “High School Musical 3: Senior Year” babe has been back on the market for longer than we’ve known.
The source recently told Us, “They have not been dating for awhile now. They just grew apart, but are remaining friends.”

As for what she looks for in a guy, Ashley revealed, “Just someone you can be comfortable with and that you can… I mean, I always have to be dressed up all the time for my work so when I’m home I just like to be in sweats and comfortable. And just someone you can laugh with, someone you can have fun with. I love to laugh and laugh at myself.”

A vast amount of celebrities utilize social network sites such as Facebook, Myspace and Twitter, but you won’t find Zac Efron on any of them.

In a recent interview, the “HSM” star said he has chosen not to get involved with these sites because he likes to have some privacy. He says,

“I kind of value in people not knowing where I am or what I’m doing.”

When asked to give an example of something he’d post if he were a part of a social network, Mr. Efron joked,

“I’m on the toilet. Still on the toilet. Guys, dot-dot-dot, out of TP. Still on the toilet.”

Meanwhile, the 21-year-old’s latest film, “17 Again,” will be making its way into theatres April 17th.

While it seemed just as good a career move as any, Zac Efron recently revealed his motivation behind turning down the lead role in the remake of “Footloose.”
The “High School Musical 3: Senior Year” stud explained that while it was a promising gig, doing the “Footloose” movie was just more of the same for him.

“I was looking for a new challenge, and this was another musical.”

Efron continued, saying that he’s hoping to help his career evolve past the teen star status he currently holds.

“I want to grow a bit with the types of movies I want to make.”

Zac added,

“It was more along the lines that I was looking for a new challenge, and this was another musical. I’m still figuring it out truthfully…I don’t know. It’s more about learning for me right now and trying as many things as possible.”

The “17 Again” hunk said he looks up to “anyone who has tried new things and isn’t afraid to take risks. People that work hard. Leo [DiCaprio], Johnny [Depp], Michael J. Fox.”
